A mulher no horário nobre da tv : estudo sobre representações do feminino na telenovela brasileira

Abstract

Na presente dissertação, partimos da consideração que a telenovela age como instrumento de construção da realidade, de manutenção da ordem social, contribuindo para a perpetuação de seus aspectos fundantes, entre os quais se incluem os referentes à política de gênero. Tendo em mente esta premissa, direcionamos o foco investigativo da pesquisa para a verificação das leis que estruturam a (re)construção do habitus de gênero na telenovela, o processo de transfiguração que faz ignorar-reconhecer a violência de gênero nela encerrada. Para tanto, ancorando-nos em conceitos de Pierre Bourdieu, na Teoria da Narrativa e na reconstrução histórica de questões referentes à representação do feminino, buscamos identificar as relações existentes entre o nosso objeto de análise - a personagem Maria Regina, vilã da novela Suave Veneno (1999), de Aguinaldo Silva - e outras figuras do feminino, a fim de percebermos a ação simbólica da telenovela, cujo trabalho transforma em natureza um produto arbitrário da história, transubstanciando relações de gênero em construções sociais naturalizadas. A partir da constatação das tradições culturais presentes na conformação da personagem de estudo, decomposta em matrizes representacionais, entendemos que é através da correspondência entre estratégias artísticas da novela e paradigmas culturais vinculados ao feminino que se dá a (re)construção do habitus de gênero, a introjeção da ordem estabelecida entre os sexos como justa, natural e imutável.

In the present dissertation, we started from the consideration that a soap opera acts as an instrument of reality construction, of social order maintenance, contributing to the perpetuation of its basic aspects, among which we can include the ones that refer to politics of gender. Having this premise in mind, we direct the investigative focus of the research to verify the laws which structure the (re)construction of the habitus of gender in soap operas, the transfiguration process which makes ignore-recognize the violence of gender enclosed in it. For this, anchored to the concepts of Pierre Bourdieu, in the Theory of Narratives and in the historic reconstruction of issues referent to the representation of the feminine, we seek for the identification of the existing relationship between our object of analysis - the character Maria Regina, the villain of the soap opera Suave Veneno (1999), by Aguinaldo Silva, and other feminine characters, in roder to perceive the symbolic action of soap operas, which transforms the nature of na arbitrary product of history, transubstantiating gender relationships in naturalized social constructions. Based on the verification of cultural traditions present in the conformation of the character that was studied, decomposed in representational matrices, we understand that it is through the correspondence between artistic strategies of soap operas and cultural paradigms linked to the feminine that this (re)construction of the gender habitus, the introjection of the established order between sexes happens as something just, natural and imutable.
