As atletas pioneiras no cenário paralímpico sul-rio-grandense : nuances de uma prática esportiva

Abstract

A presente pesquisa aborda a participação de mulheres pioneiras em competições de atletismo paralímpico sul-rio-grandense e nacional. As atletas deficientes visuais, Anelise Hermany, Leila Marques e Vera Bergamo, vivenciaram o contexto inicial de estruturação deste campo esportivo no Rio Grande do Sul. Ademais, destacaram-se em competições nacionais de atletismo e representaram o Brasil nos Jogos Paralímpicos de 1988, em Seul, Coréia do Sul. Diante disso, o objetivo deste estudo histórico é investigar os percursos esportivo das três atletas sul-rio-grandenses deficientes visuais, pioneiras no atletismo paralímpico. Para tanto, privilegiou-se o referencial teórico-metodológico da Nova História Cultural e da História Oral, assentando-se na análise de fontes orais, as quais foram confrontadas com os resultados obtidos através da revisão bibliográfica. A investigação demonstrou que as três atletas sul-rio-grandenses se inseriram de maneiras distintas no esporte paralímpico, mas que suas histórias se cruzaram por meio da prática do atletismo. Além disso, suas narrativas evidenciaram muito mais que suas trajetórias esportivas, elas registraram parte da história esportiva paralímpica brasileira. Diante disso, consideramos que as atletas deixaram um legado, que a presente pesquisa buscou revelar. Espera-se, por meio desta versão da história, contribuir com outros estudos, mas também preservar a memória esportiva do País que sediará os Jogos Paralímpicos em 2016.

This research approaches the participation of pioneer women in paralympic athletics competitions of Rio Grande do Sul and national levels. The visually impaired athletes, Anelise Hermany, Leila Marques and Vera Bergamo, have experienced the initial structuring context of this sport field in Rio Grande do Sul. Moreover, they have shined through national athletics competitions and they have represented Brazil at the 1988 Paralympic Games in Seoul, South Korea. Thus, the aim of this historical study is to investigate the sporting routes of the three visually impaired athletes from Rio Grande do Sul that are pioneers in paralympic athletics. For this purpose, the research focused on the theoretical and methodological referential of the New Cultural History and Oral History, relying on the analysis of oral sources, which were confronted with the results obtained from the literature review. The research has shown that the three athletes from Rio Grande do Sul were inserted in different ways in the paralympic sport, but their stories have intercrossed through the practice of athletics. In addition, their narratives showed much more than their sport trajectories, they recorded part of the Brazilian paralympic sports history. Therefore, it is considered that the athletes have left a legacy that this research sought to reveal. It is hoped, through this version of history, to contribute with other studies and also to preserve the sporting memory of the country that is going to host the Paralympic Games in 2016.
