Lenora Rosenfield : diálogos com o Surrealismo e a Psicanálise (1968 a 1998)

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como intenção apresentar as obras da artista Lenora Rosenfield dos anos de 1968 a 1998. Em um primeiro momento, analisa-se a história da artista, através de sua memória pessoal, e o início de suas relações com os temas do Surrealismo e da Psicanálise; além disso, contextualiza-se brevemente o circuito artístico, social e cultural dos anos 70, 80 e 90, principalmente entre os Estados Unidos - país que marca muitas experiências na vida da artista -, Brasil e Rio Grande do Sul. Em um segundo momento, trabalha-se especificamente com obras realizadas para a dissertação de Mestrado Bruxas, monstros e demônios: uma representação pictórica (1995), cuja observação será feita a partir de três grandes temas presentes em grande parte das obras: Realidade versus fantasia, Eu e os outros e Anacronismos. Procurou-se, pois, evidenciar e revelar uma artista que trabalhou com temas que sempre estiveram na margem da história da arte brasileira e, principalmente, na arte do Rio Grande do Sul.

The purpose of this paper is to present the works of the artist Lenora Rosenfield from 1968 to 1998. Firstly, it wil be analyzed the history of the artist, through her personal memory, and the beginning of her relationships with the themes of Surrealism and the Psychoanalysis. Furthermore, it will be briefly contextualized with the artistic, social and cultural circuit of the 70s, 80s and 90s, especially between the United States - a country which marks many experiences in the artist's life - Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul. Secondly, it will be worked specifically with works made for a Master's thesis titled Bruxas, monstros e demônios: uma representação pictórica – “Witches, monsters and demons: a pictorial representation (1995)” -, whose observation will be made from three major themes which are present in some of these works: reality versus fantasy, I and others and anachronisms. Therefore, this paper highlights and reveals an artist who worked with themes which have always been on the edge of Brazilian art’s history and especially the art of Rio Grande do Sul.
