Habilitação de professores(as) para a educação fisica escolar (1929-1939)

Abstract

O presente estudo tem por objetivo compreender como ocorreu a habilitação de professores(as) para atuar com a Educação Física Escolar no Rio Grande do Sul, no período de 1929 a 1939. O recorte temporal parte de 1929, ano em que foram criados os Cursos Intensivos de Educação Physica, possuidores de um caráter de especialização, e se encerra no ano de 1939, quando ocorreu a última edição dos cursos devido à criação, no ano seguinte, da primeira instituição voltada à formação superior em Educação Física, no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Para tanto, procedeu-se a interpretação de documentos oficiais, tais como leis, decretos, relatórios e correspondências, bem como de reportagens de jornais. Tal documentação foi cotejada com as informações localizadas por meio da revisão bibliográfica. A interpretação aos materiais de pesquisa, sustentada pelo referencial teórico-metodológico da História Cultural, evidenciou que a habilitação de professores(as) para a Educação Física Escolar, no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul sucedeu, inicialmente por meio da instituição de uma política estadual, que criou os Cursos Intensivos de Educação Física com a finalidade de especialização dos professores(as). Posteriormente, tal medida, juntamente com ações advindas de âmbito federal, conformaram as bases para a criação, no ano de 1940, da Escola Superior de Educação Física (ESEF), sendo esta a primeira instituição superior de formação profissional do Estado.

This study aims to understand how the qualification of Physical Education teachers to work at schools occurred in Rio Grande do Sul, from 1929 to 1939. The specified time frame begins in 1929, when the Intensives Courses of Physical Education were created, having a specialization character, and ends in 1939, year of the last edition of the Course due to the creation, in the following year, of the first institution focused on higher education in Physical Education of the state Rio Grande do Sul. For this purpose, official documents, such as laws, decrees, reports and correspondence, as well as newspaper reports were interpreted. Such documentation was compared with the information found through the bibliographic review. The interpretation of the research materials, supported by the theoretical and methodological reference of Cultural History, evidenced that the qualification of teachers for school Physical Education in the state of Rio Grande do Sul succeeded, initially, through the institution of a state policy creating Intensive Courses of Physical Education to qualify specialized teachers. Subsequently, this measure together with some actions at a federal level, constituted the basis for the creation, in 1940, of the School of Physical Education (ESEF), which is the first higher vocational training institution in the state.
