Técnicas de lateralização e transposição do nervo alveolar inferior para colocação de implantes

Abstract

O uso de implantes dentários é uma das opções de tratamento disponíveis para a reabilitação de pacientes total ou parcialmente desdentados. No entanto, a condição do paciente e algumas limitações da técnica ainda representam desafios para o dentista. O trabalho tem o propósito de descrever as técnicas de lateralização e transposição do nervo alveolar inferior utilizadas na odontologia para reabilitação de mandíbulas atróficas posteriores com emprego de implantes osseointegráveis. Ademais, abordar os avanços da técnica, vantagens, desvantagens, indicações, contra-indicações e verificar o emprego da mesma. A técnica de lateralização do nervo alveolar inferior é um procedimento cirúrgico útil e viável quando não existem mais opções para tal reabilitação. Mesmo com todo esse processo, o profissional deve ser cauteloso durante o ato cirúrgico, pois a técnica é considerada de alto risco e pode causar parestesia.

The use of dental implants is one of the treatment options available for the rehabilitation of partially or totally edentulous patients. However, the condition of the patient and also some technical limitations can become a challenge to the dentist. The present study aims to describe the techniques of lateralization and transposition of the inferior alveolar nerve used for rehabilitation of atrophic posterior mandible with dental implants. Moreover, argue about technology advances, advantages, disadvantages, indications, contraindications and the use of the techniques. The lateralization of the inferior alveolar nerve is a useful and viable surgical procedure when there are no more options for such rehabilitation. Even with this process, the professional must be cautious during surgery, the technique is considered high risk and can cause paresthesia.
