La divulgación del conocimiento especializado : análisis del rol de la terminología en el área de Conservacióny Restauración de Bienes en Papel

Abstract

Este texto tiene el objetivo de presentar los resultados del proyecto de posdoctorado La divulgación del conocimiento especializado: análisis del rol de la terminología en el área de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes en Papel, realizado en la Facultad de Información y Comunicación de la Udelar. Su objetivo fue analizar los términos, su uso en textos de distintos niveles de especialización —textos académicos y textos de divulgación— y su función en la representación y transmisión del conocimiento, con foco en el área referida con anterioridad. Los textos analizados incluyen el portugués de Brasil y el español de Uruguay. Presentamos una síntesis de los principales aspectos del marco teórico que fundamentaron la investigación, las etapas metodológicas seguidas para la construcción de los corpus textuales, para la descripción de los textos y para la recogida y análisis de los términos y los resultados obtenidos. Al final, comentamos algunas de las contribuciones de la terminología para la divulgación del conocimiento.

This paper aims to present the results of the postdoctoral project The dissemination of specialized knowledge: analyzing the role of terminology in the area of Conservation and Restoration of Movable Cultural Goods on Paper, held at the Faculty of Information and Communication of the University of the Republic. Its objective was to analyze the terms and their use in texts of different levels of specialization —academic and non-academic texts— and their function in the representation and transmission of knowledge, focusing on the previously mentioned area. The analyzed texts include Brazilian Portuguese and Uruguayan Spanish. We present a synthesis of the main aspects of the theoretical framework that supported the research, the methodological steps for the construction of the textual corpora, for the description of the texts and for the collection and analysis of the terms, as well as the results obtained. Finally, we comment on some of the contributions of terminology to the dissemination of knowledge.
