As representações dos judeus na primeira parte da “General Estoria” do rei Alfonso X

Abstract

Este trabalho de conclusão de graduação pretende contribuir para a pesquisa medieval se utilizando de uma fonte ainda pouco pesquisada, mas com grande potencial, que é a General Estoria, escrita pelo rei Alfonso X. O eixo temático desta pesquisa são os sefarditas, isto é, os judeus na Espanha medieval. No contexto do final da Reconquista, os sefarditas tinham um papel importante na sociedade, no entanto, boatos e produções culturais começaram a infligir com mais força o antissemitismo e o antijudaísmo na Europa. Assim, este trabalho busca compreender como essa inflexão reverberou pela Espanha, tentando remontar o imaginário daquele período. Se tentará encontrar referências e elementos que representem os judeus, e assim tentar compreender como eles se enquadram nessa construção imaginário e no horizonte histórico medieval. A metodologia empregada será a análise de discurso e a narratologia.

This dissertation aims to contribute to medieval research using a source not yet researched, but with great potential, which is General Estoria, written by King Alfonso X. The thematic axis of this research are the Sephardic, that is, the Jews in medieval Spain. In the context of the end of the Reconquest, the Sephardim played an important role in society, however, rumors and cultural productions began to inflict more strongly on anti-Semitism and anti-Judaism in Europe. Thus, this work seeks to understand how this inflection reverberated through Spain, trying to reassemble the imagery of that period. Also, it will try to find references and elements that represent the Jews, and thus try to understand how they fit into this imaginary construction and medieval historical horizon. The methodology used will be discourse analysis and narratology.
