Sveglia : a produção de um romance

Abstract

A produção desta dissertação distancia-se, de certo modo, das demais dissertações de Mestrado defendidas no âmbito do PPG-Let-UFRGS. Trata-se, num primeiro momento, da descrição a posteriori do percurso de escrita do romance intitulado Sveglia, que teve sua redação paralela às disciplinas e atividades afins durante a passagem do mestrando/autor por este Programa. Procurou-se, nessa parte descritiva, evidenciar a singularidade inerente a todo processo de produção artística, e decorre dessa preocupação o uso da primeira pessoa nos textos. No caso deste trabalho, a descrição do processo criativo passa por três momentos fundamentais: primeiro, pelo resgate da obra anterior do autor (representada pela releitura do conto A extinção da primeira pessoa, publicado em 2007 no livro homônimo); segundo, pela narração do contato do autor com o escritor João Gilberto Noll - e consequente reavaliação da pesquisa então em andamento; e, terceiro, por uma entrevista concedida por Noll ao autor e publicada na edição número 37 (1/2008) da Revista de Literatura Brasileira Brasil/Brazil (Associação Cultural Acervo Literário Erico Verissimo/Brown University). A última parte do trabalho é a apresentação do romance Sveglia, considerado o produto final do percurso assim descrito.

The making of this thesis is somehow different from the usual ones produced in this PPG-Let-UFRGS. It describes at first the path of fictional writing of the novel Sveglia, which was produced along with the classes and correlated activities during the enrollment of the author in this Program. The aim of this descriptive moment of the work was to enlighten the inherent singularity of every artistic production, and the use of the first person draws from this concern. In the specific case of the present work, the description of the creative process takes on account three fundamental moments: first, the recovery of the past fictional work by the same author (represented by the reading of the tale A extinção da primeira pessoa, published in 2007 in the homonym book); second, the narration of the contact of the author with writer João Gilberto Noll - and consequent re-evaluation of the research then in course; and third, an interview given to the author by Noll and published in the 37th edition (1/2008) of the Journal of Brazilian Literature Brasil/Brazil (Associação Cultural Acervo Literário Erico Verissimo/Brown Unversity). The last part of the work consists in the presentation of the novel Sveglia, understood as the final product of the writing path as described.
