Cinemas de calçada em Porto Alegre : onde estão os vestígios para contar essa história?

Abstract

A proposta do trabalho consistiu na busca da documentação arquivística referente ao Cine Theatro Capitólio, um dos antigos ―cinemas de calçada‖ da cidade de Porto Alegre. Foi realizado levantamento e pesquisa da documentação produzida ao longo de sua existência, procurando compreender a história e a memória desse cinema e local da memória da cidade de Porto Alegre. A pesquisa realizada no Centro de Documentação e Memória Capitólio - CDM, Cinemateca Capitólio, buscou reconhecer esses vestígios a partir da compreensão do contexto urbano, histórico e memorial dos ―cinemas de calçada‖ de Porto Alegre. Após a contextualização, foram descritos os tipos documentais encontrados, os processos de tombamento, através da elaboração de Inventário Sumário e seus respectivos fins analisados a fim de avaliar seu potencial para a pesquisa histórica. O trabalho concluiu que a partir da descrição arquivística realizada foi possível ter uma visão geral da série documental em análise e verificar que mesmo diante da escassez de documentos, pode-se perceber a potencialidade do trabalho arquivístico naquela instituição.

The proposal of this work consisted of the search for archival documentation related to the ―Cine Theatro Capitólio, one of the old ―sidewalk cinemas‖ in the city of Porto Alegre. A survey and research of the documentation produced throughout its existence were carried out, seeking to understand the history and memory of this cinema and the memory of the city of Porto Alegre. The research conducted at the Capitólio Documentation and Memory Center - CDM, Capitólio Cinematheque, sought to recognize these traces from an understanding of the urban, historical and memorial context of the ―sidewalk cinemas‖ in Porto Alegre. After contextualization, the documental types found were described, the processes, through the elaboration of a summary Inventory and their respective purposes analyzed in order to assess their potential for historical research. The work concluded that with the archival description performed was possible to have an overview of the documentary series under analysis and thus verify that even in the face of the scarcity of documents, it’s possible to perceive the potential of archival work in that institution.
