As condições de acesso à educação dos imigrantes haitianos em Encantado/RS

Abstract

Este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar a imigração haitiana no município de Encantado, estado do Rio Grande do Sul, em uma pesquisa relacionada às condições de acesso à educação que são proporcionadas para estes imigrantes. Na busca deste objetivo, inicialmente buscou-se introduzir em referencial teórico a ideia de imigração no Brasil, retratando a formação socioespacial do território brasileiro, desde o período colonial até os movimentos migratórios mais recentes, sendo fundamental a caracterização do povo haitiano, as condições de seu país, a motivação de sua emigração e a maneira como chegaram no país, em especial no município de Encantado/RS. Após, em forma de entrevistas, apresentou-se informações relevantes obtidas junto a agentes que fizeram e ainda fazem parte da organização social a que se deu o acolhimento destes imigrantes, em relevância na forma em que estes vem sendo integrados e assimilando-se na comunidade, trazendo também depoimentos que relatam suas experiências, por fim indicando a real situação do acesso à educação proporcionada aos haitianos residentes no municípios e, principalmente, aos seus filhos. Enfim, conclui-se que apesar das dificuldades iniciais de adaptação, principalmente em relação à língua, estes vem se organizando relativamente bem, sendo que ao serem considerados plenos em cidadania, estão sujeitos aos mesmos direitos e aos mesmos deveres que qualquer brasileiro nato, deste modo o acesso à educação, assim como outros direitos lhes é possibilitado em igual equivalência.

This research aims to analyze Haitian immigration in the municipality of Encantado, Rio Grande do Sul, in a research related to the conditions of access to education that are provided for these immigrants. In order to achieve this goal, we initially set out to conceptualize immigration in Brazil into a theoretical framework by portraying the socio-spatial formation of the Brazilian territory from the colonial era to current day’s latest movements. This was crucial in order to characterize the Haitian people, the circumstances of their home country, the driving forces responsible for their immigration, and the means by which they arrived in the country, particularly in the municipality of Encantado/RS. Following that, pertinent information obtained from agents who were and still are a part of the social organization that welcomed these immigrants was presented in the form of interviews, in relevance to the way in which they have been integrated and assimilated into the community, as well as testimonials that report their experiences, finally indicating the real situation of access to education provided to Haitians residing in the municipalities and, in particular, to their children. Finally, it is concluded that despite the initial integration challenges, primarily linguistic, Haitian immigrants have been organizing fairly well and, when considered the citizenship, they are subject to the same rights and obligations as any native Brazilian. The access to education, as well as other rights, are made possible equivalently.
