Uma sombra demasiado minha: reflexões sobre um processo de criação

Abstract

A presente pesquisa apresenta uma reflexão acerca de minha produção artística, focada na produção apresentada na individual “não um tempo, mas um lugar”, no Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul, em 2022. Nela, analiso o processo de criação dos trabalhos a partir da presença da memória da casa onde vivi na infância. Esta memória é pensada a partir do conceito de infamiliar, de Sigmund Freud, e parto dela para pensar mitos de origem do desenho e o cruzamento dos aspectos técnicos e poéticos de minha produção em desenho e pintura. O primeiro capítulo pensa o ateliê como um labirinto e analisa os aspectos que circundam o trabalho: influências, referências e cadernos de desenhos, através de aproximações com autores como Jorge Luis Borges, Cesar Aira, Sigmund Freud e Serge Tisseron, além de artistas como John Cage, Marcel Duchamp e Bruce Nauman. O segundo capítulo investiga meu processo de criação em desenho e pintura, se atendo aos aspectos técnicos e poéticos dos trabalhos, a partir de conceitos das artes visuais, mas também da música e do cinema, dando atenção à percepção do cotidiano que perpassa a prática de ateliê para a construção de uma poética. O diagramático é pensado como operação de construção dos trabalhos, em aproximações com autores como Leo Steinberg e David Joselit. O terceiro capítulo busca investigar um recorte específico de minha produção, de desenhos especializados, que chamo trabalhos-espaço: seus processos são discutidos à luz dos contextos sociais, culturais e geográficos que os possibilitaram, refletindo também a partir de aproximações com a obra de artistas como Matisse e Richard Serra, entre outros.

This research presents a reflection on my artistic production, focused on the works presented in the solo show “not a time, but a place”, at the Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul, in 2022. In it, I analyze the process of creating the works from the persistence of the memories of the house where I lived in my childhood. This memory is conceived based on Sigmund Freud’s concept of the uncanny, from which I depart to reflect about the original myths of drawing and the crossing of technical and poetic aspects of my production in drawing and painting. The first chapter analyzes the studio as a labyrinth and examines the aspects that surround the work: influences, references and sketchbooks, through approximations with authors such as Jorge Luis Borges, Cesar Aira, Sigmund Freud and Serge Tisseron, as well as artists such as John Cage, Marcel Duchamp and Bruce Nauman. The second chapter investigates my creative process in drawing and painting, focusing on the technical and poetic aspects of the works, based on concepts from the visual arts, but also from music and cinema, paying attention on how the perception of the everyday that permeates the studio practice helps constructing my poetics. The diagrammatic is explored as an constructive operation of the works, in approximations with authors such as Leo Steinberg and David Joselit. The third chapter seeks to investigate a specific section of my production, of spacialized drawings, which I call trabalhos-espaço: their processes are discussed under the light of the social, cultural and geographic contexts that made them possible, also reflecting on approaches to the work of artists such as Matisse and Richard Serra, among others.
