Regionalismo, identidades e sociabilidades estudantis nos “ranchos” da Escola Técnica de Agricultura (ETA) em Viamão-RS

Abstract

Na Escola Técnica de Agricultura em Viamão-RS existiram, dos anos 10 ao 90 do século XX, os “ranchos” – espaços fundados e frequentados pelos alunos no bosque da escola. A escola é de ensino médio e técnico, com o sistema de internato; e, nesse sentido, a maioria dos alunos vinham do interior do Rio Grande do Sul. O cotidiano estudantil ocorria, em grande parte, nesses ranchos; e dialogava com o sistema de internato, com regras e formas próprias de organização. No entanto, também era afetado por fatores mais amplos, relacionados à origem étnica dos alunos e à circulação de perspectivas culturais. Nesse sentido, o objetivo do trabalho foi analisar as identidades, as sociabilidades estudantis e o panorama histórico-cultural nos ranchos da ETA entre as décadas de 1970 a 1990. Esta pesquisa se insere na história do Rio Grande do Sul e na história da educação; parte dos conceitos de Cultura Escolar, Instituição Total e Memória; e usa das metodologias de História Oral, análise de Impressos Estudantis e História Digital, para a análise das entrevistas, um periódico de alunos e postagens em redes sociais. Foi trabalhado como os ranchos se inseriam na história da ETA, e as configurações de seu espaço físico; os diferentes momentos e atividades de socialização entre alunos nos ranchos, com paralelos e tensionamentos ao internato; ideias e imagens externas sobre cultura e etnia, que se misturaram ao universo estudantil, com disputas e nuances.

At the Technical School of Agriculture in Viamão-RS, from the 10s to the 90s of the 20th century, there were “ranches” – spaces founded and frequented by students around the school. The school is for secondary and technical education, with a boarding system; and, in this sense, the majority of students came from the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. Student life took place, to a large extent, on these ranches; and dialogued with the boarding school system, with its own rules and forms of organization. However, it was also affected by broader factors related to students' ethnic origin and the circulation of cultural perspectives. In this sense, the objective of the work was to analyze identities, student sociabilities and ethnic-cultural panorama on ETA “ranchos” between the 70s and 90s – to have a broader profile of the ranches. This research is part of the history of Rio Grande do Sul and the history of education; part of the concepts of School Culture, Total Institution and Memory; and uses Oral History, Student Press and Digital History methodologies to analyze interviews, a student journal and posts on social networks. It was worked on how the ranches were part of the history of ETA, and the configurations of their physical space; the different moments and activities of socialization between students on the ranches, with parallels and tensions to the boarding school; external ideas and images about culture and ethnicity, which were mixed into the student universe, with disputes and nuances.
