A fotografia como documento de arquivo : um olhar sobre o acervo da extinta CEEE

Abstract

A fotografia está presente em nosso cotidiano diário. Sendo um documento tão usual em nossa sociedade, a presente pesquisa procura abordar a fotografia numa perspectiva arquivística, tendo como estudo de caso o acervo permanente da extinta CEEE. O objetivo é demonstrar que o tratamento arquivístico pode agregar mais significados para acervos institucionais, adquirindo desta maneira, uma relevância maior para a sociedade e potencializando seus usos. A metodologia de caráter qualitativa consiste na pesquisa bibliográfica acerca do tema proposto; e documental visando recuperar o contexto de criação desses registros fotográficos. A proposta de tratamento é a descrição arquivística segunda a Norma Internacional para Descrição de Funções aliada à metodologias da Diplomática Contemporânea para a identificação arquivística e análise tipológica. A justificativa se deve pelo fato da pesquisa abordar a fotografia como documento arquivístico dentro de um contexto institucional, trazendo propostas e reflexões acerca de uma metodologia para a fotografia enquanto documento arquivístico. A metodologia proposta identificou a Instituição, evidenciou a função e as atividades relacionadas na criação desses registros fotográficos. A análise tipológica nomeou e detalhou o tipo documental, enquanto a descrição arquivística acrescentou o contexto de criação e estruturou essas informações, estabelecendo relações entre o documento e seu criador, trazendo mais significado à fotografia enquanto documento de arquivo. Conclui-se que existe uma vasta bibliografia em relação ao tratamento arquivístico de documentos textuais, contudo em relação à fotografia, existe uma lacuna metodológica e teórica para o tratamento da fotografia como documento arquivístico, principalmente no âmbito das instituições.

Photography is present in our daily lives. Being such a common document in our society, this research seeks to approach photography from an archival perspective, having as a case study the permanent collection of the extinct CEEE. The objective is to demonstrate that archival treatment can add more meaning to institutional collections, thus acquiring greater relevance for society and enhancing its uses. The qualitative methodology consists of bibliographical research on the proposed theme; and documental in order to recover the context in which these photographic records were created. The proposed treatment is the archival description according to the International Standard for Job Descriptions combined with Contemporary Diplomatic methodologies for archival identification and typological analysis. The justification is due to the fact that the research approaches photography as an archival document within an institutional context, bringing proposals and reflections about a methodology for photography as an archival document.The proposed methodology identified the Institution, evidenced the function and activities related to the creation of these photographic records. The typological analysis named and detailed the document type, while the archival description added the creation context and structured this information, establishing relationships between the document and its creator, bringing more meaning to the photograph as an archival document. It is concluded that there is a vast bibliography in relation to the archival treatment of textual documents, however in relation to photography, there is a methodological and theoretical gap for the treatment of photography as an archival document, mainly within the scope of institutions.
