Abstract

A monografia aborda o desenvolvimento econômico sustentável e sua aplicação na indústria têxtil. O principal objetivo é analisar as estratégias e abordagens adotadas para alcançar um desenvolvimento econômico que seja ecologicamente sustentável e socialmente responsável. O estudo inicia com uma revisão de teorias econômicas de desenvolvimento e sua relação com a sustentabilidade, destacando a importância de integrar questões ecológicas nas práticas econômicas. Em seguida, traça um panorama histórico-estrutural da indústria têxtil, desde a Revolução Industrial até a estrutura econômica contemporânea, evidenciando desafios e oportunidades para o setor. Particularmente, a pesquisa dá destaque ao Brasil, que é um dos maiores produtores mundiais de algodão, essencial para a indústria têxtil global. A escolha do Brasil se justifica não apenas por ser o país de origem do estudo, mas também pela relevância econômica e ambiental do setor têxtil no país. O Brasil possui características específicas, como a grande disponibilidade de recursos naturais e um mercado interno robusto, que tornam a análise de suas práticas e políticas ambientais especialmente pertinente. O trabalho também inclui uma revisão das regulamentações e políticas governamentais, inovações tecnológicas e estratégias sustentáveis adotadas pelas empresas têxteis. Finalmente, conclui com uma discussão sobre as perspectivas futuras para a indústria têxtil em termos de sustentabilidade e desenvolvimento econômico, propondo recomendações para a adoção de práticas mais sustentáveis.

The monograph addresses sustainable economic development and its application in the textile industry. The main objective is to analyze the strategies and approaches adopted to achieve economic development that is both ecologically sustainable and socially responsible. The study begins with a review of economic development theories and their relationship with sustainability, highlighting the importance of integrating ecological issues into economic practices. It then outlines a historical-structural panorama of the textile industry, from the Industrial Revolution to the contemporary economic structure, highlighting challenges and opportunities for the sector. Particularly, the research focuses on Brazil, which is one of the world's largest producers of cotton, essential for the global textile industry. The choice of Brazil is justified not only because it is the country of origin of the study but also due to the economic and environmental relevance of the textile sector in the country. Brazil has specific characteristics, such as the large availability of natural resources and a robust domestic market, which make the analysis of its environmental practices and policies especially pertinent. The work also includes a review of governmental regulations and policies, technological innovations, and sustainable strategies adopted by textile companies. Finally, it concludes with a discussion on the prospects for the textile industry in terms of sustainability and economic development, proposing recommendations for the adoption of more sustainable practices.

Die Monographie behandelt die nachhaltige wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und deren Anwendung in der Textilindustrie. Das Hauptziel besteht darin, die Strategien und Ansätze zu analysieren, die angenommen wurden, um eine wirtschaftliche Entwicklung zu erreichen, die sowohl ökologisch nachhaltig als auch sozial verantwortlich ist. Die Studie beginnt mit einer Überprüfung der Theorien zur wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung und deren Beziehung zur Nachhaltigkeit, wobei die Bedeutung der Integration ökologischer Fragen in die wirtschaftlichen Praktiken hervorgehoben wird. Anschließend wird ein historisch-strukturelles Panorama der Textilindustrie skizziert, von der Industriellen Revolution bis zur zeitgenössischen Wirtschaftsstruktur, wobei Herausforderungen und Chancen für den Sektor aufgezeigt werden. Insbesondere konzentriert sich die Forschung auf Brasilien, das einer der weltweit größten Baumwollproduzenten ist, was für die globale Textilindustrie von wesentlicher Bedeutung ist. Abschließend wird eine Diskussion über die Zukunftsaussichten der Textilindustrie in Bezug auf Nachhaltigkeit und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung geführt und Empfehlungen für die Annahme nachhaltigerer Praktiken vorgeschlagen.
