Para "Ser": representações culturais de identidades de atletas negras no Instagram do Comitê Paralímpico Brasileiro (2012-2019)

Abstract

O esporte moderno, desde sua "invenção", é marcado por disputas políticas, discursivas e identitárias. Da mesma forma, o esporte paralímpico é atravessado por questões que refletem as relações de poder sustentadas por interesses, valores e estruturas de determinados grupos sociais. Ao analisarmos a principal entidade responsável pela gestão do esporte paralímpico no Brasil, é possível identificar representações culturais de identidades que se manifestam também no ambiente online. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar as representações culturais de identidades de atletas negras no Instagram do Comitê Paralímpico Brasileiro (CPB). A análise concentra-se nas publicações do perfil oficial do CPB (imagens e textos), tendo como aporte teórico-metodológico os pressupostos da História Cultural, com base nas noções de representações culturais, práticas culturais e memória esportiva. A interseccionalidade também é adotada como referencial teórico, permitindo a análise da complexidade das identidades e das desigualdades sociais. As mídias digitais foram consideradas fontes de pesquisa, uma vez que a esfera online está cada vez mais presente no cotidiano das pessoas. As fontes digitais coletadas foram submetidas às técnicas de Análise Documental e Análise Temática de Conteúdo. Constatamos que as atletas negras paralímpicas eram representadas por uma narrativa que desconsiderava sua identidade racial negra. Essa representação revela a complexa teia do racismo presente no cenário do esporte paralímpico no Brasil.

Modern sport, since its "invention", has been marked by political, discursive and identity disputes. Likewise, Paralympic sport is permeated by issues that reflect the power relations sustained by the interests, values and structures of certain social groups. When analyzing the main entity responsible for managing Paralympic sport in Brazil, it is possible to identify cultural representations of identities that also manifest themselves in the online environment. This research aims to analyze the cultural representations of identities of black athletes on the Instagram of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB). The analysis focuses on publications from the CPB's official profile (images and texts), using the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Cultural History as a basis, based on the notions of cultural representations, cultural practices and sports memory. Intersectionality is also adopted as a theoretical framework, allowing the analysis of the complexity of identities and social inequalities. Digital media were considered sources of research, since the online sphere is increasingly present in people's daily lives. The collected digital sources were subjected to Document Analysis and Thematic Content Analysis techniques. We found that black Paralympic athletes were represented by a narrative that disregarded their black racial identity. This representation reveals the complex web of racism present in the Paralympic sports scene in Brazil.
