Seguir ou não na atividade agrícola? : um olhar sobre as perspectivas dos jovens rurais de Quaraí-RS

Abstract

O presente estudo aborda a perspectiva dos jovens rurais de Quaraí de continuar ou não residindo no meio rural e exercendo atividades agropecuárias. Esta temática justifica ser pesquisada devido ao grande número de pessoas, especialmente os mais jovens, que migram do campo para a cidade, sendo as mulheres as que migram em maior proporção, acarretando assim no processo de masculinização no campo. Dessa forma, o principal objetivo do estudo é analisar as perspectivas que os jovens rurais do município de Quaraí/RS, possuem quanto à sua manutenção e às suas atividades de trabalho no campo. Como objetivos secundários, busca-se identificar os fatores sociais e econômicos que estão relacionados à perspectiva dos jovens de não quererem se manter no campo e; verificar se o núcleo familiar apoia o jovem a permanecer no campo. Para tanto, foram entrevistados individualmente dez jovens rurais ocupados em atividades agrícolas, utilizando um questionário e entrevista semi-estruturada - englobando questões abertas e fechadas. Constatou-se que do total de jovens entrevistados, 40% tem a perspectiva de continuar no meio rural e consequentemente seguir na ocupação agrícola, por gostarem do meio e das atividades do campo. No entanto, 60% acredita que terá melhores oportunidades de vida se migrar para a cidade, e assim, não pretendem permanecer no exercício de atividades agrícolas. Esses jovens acreditam na possibilidade de emprego na cidade. Um fator de grande importância para a permanência ou não no campo está relacionado ao incentivo do núcleo familiar, pois a maioria dos jovens recebe estímulo para migrar, visto que os pais apoiam a continuidade dos estudos e visualizam que ao migrarem seus filhos terão melhores condições e oportunidades na vida. Diante disso, as implicações que o êxodo de jovens rurais acarreta é a acentuação da falta de mão de obra no campo, como também uma preocupação em relação a constituição de famílias, masculinização e envelhecimento no meio rural do Município em estudo.

This study addresses the perspective of young rural Quaraí whether to continue living in the rural agricultural activities and exercising. This issue warrants to search due to the large number of people, especially young people, who migrate from rural to urban, and women are migrating in greater proportion, thus bringing the process of masculinization in the field. Thus, the main objective of the study is to analyze the perspectives that young rural municipality of Quaraí / RS, have as their maintenance and their work activities in the field. As secondary objectives, seeks to identify the social and economic factors that are related to the perspective of young people to want to stay on the field and, verify that the nuclear family supports young people to stay on the field. To this end, ten young people were interviewed individually engaged in rural agriculture, using a questionnaire and semi-structured interview - comprising open and closed questions. It was found that the total number of youth interviewed, 40% have the prospect of continuing in rural areas and consequently follow in agricultural occupation, because they like the environment and the activities of the field. However, 60% believe they will have better opportunities to migrate to the city, and thus does not intend to stay in the exercise of agricultural activities. These young people believe in the possibility of employment in the city. A factor of great importance to stay or not in the field is related to the encouragement of the family, because most young people receive encouragement to migrate, since the parents support the continuation of studies and shown to migrate to their children will be better and opportunities in life. Therefore, the implications of the exodus of rural youth carries the accent is the lack of manpower in the field, but also a concern about the formation of families, masculinization and aging in rural areas of the city under study.
