Caminhos urbanos à deriva.

Abstract

A presente pesquisa surge a partir das inquietações que hoje permeiam a existência das cidades. Essas formas de agrupamento humano, reconstruídas historicamente, chegam ao Séc. XIX em crise, em uma conjuntura mundial onde a grande maioria da população está residindo nas relativamente pequenas áreas de superfície da Terra ocupadas pelas cidades. Essa crise reflete-se como uma crise social, econômica, ambiental. Na tentativa de dar conta de aspectos que dialogassem com esse complexo quadro que se tornou a vida urbana, realizou-se uma aproximação entre o movimento Internacional Situacionista (IS) e a Geografia (além de autores de outras áreas do conhecimento). Foi feita uma abordagem geral da IS, a partir da sua constituição e de seus aspectos mais históricos. Em seguida, foram explicitados e discutidos os conceitos e reflexões mais pertinentes desse movimento para a presente pesquisa. Primou-se o foco na denominada Teoria da Deriva (uma proposição de comportamento cotidiano e de estudo psicogeográfico da cidade) e no seu ato mais elementar, o caminhar. A atividade de Derivar foi abordada, ainda, como uma Zona Autônoma Temporária. Por último foram trazidas duas experiências de realização da Teoria da Deriva, uma experiência publicada pelos próprios situacionistas e uma vivenciada pelo autor desse trabalho.

The present research emerges from the restless thoughts that permeate the existent of the cities today. These forms of human grouping, reconstructed historically, gets to the 21ºst Century in crisis, in a world conjuncture where the biggest amount of population are residing in the relative small areas of Earth’s surface occupied by cities. This crisis reflects itself as a social, economical and ecological crisis. In the attempt to account for aspects that dialogue with this complex situation that is the urban life, an approximation was made, between the Situationist International (IS) movement and Geography (besides authors from others fields of knowledge). A general approach of the IS was made, starting from their constitution and more historical aspects. Following, where were explicit and debated the concepts and reflections more pertinent of this movement to the present research. The primed focus was the denominated Theory of the Derive (a proposition of a new daily behavior and a psychogeographic study) and its most elementary act, the walking. The activity of Deriving was yet approached as an Temporary Autonomous Zone. As last were brought two experiences of realization of the Theory of the Derive, one experience published by the situationists themselves and one lived by the author of this work.
