Avaliação das obras de direito de família da Biblioteca do Tribunal de Justiça do Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

Relata um estudo avaliativo realizado nas obras de Direito de Família da Biblioteca do Tribunal de Justiça do Rio Grande do Sul (TJRS), a partir dos seguintes critérios: uso, condições físicas, obras clássicas, número de exemplares por obra e autoria. Comenta a indicação de destinação para as obras avaliadas. Mostra a importância da realização de avaliações periódicas nos acervos de bibliotecas, com a finalidade de qualificá-los e, conseqüentemente, analisar a adequação do desenvolvimento de coleções implantado nessas bibliotecas. Expõe as etapas do desenvolvimento de coleções, que são a seleção, a aquisição, a avaliação, o desbastamento e a conservação e preservação, e mostra a importância dessas etapas serem bem elaboradas para que o acervo das bibliotecas seja organizado com qualidade. Conclui que os resultados da avaliação realizada demonstraram que o acervo da Biblioteca do TJRS corresponde a seus objetivos, apesar de apresentar alguns problemas, principalmente, em relação as suas condições físicas. Faz sugestões a essa biblioteca em relação à realização de outros estudos avaliativos no restante do acervo e ao estabelecimento de uma periodicidade nesse processo.

It tells a carried through study of evaluation in the books of Family Law of the Library of the Court of Justice of the Rio Grande do Sul (TJRS), from the following criteria: use, physical conditions, classic books, number of units for book and authorship. It comments the indication of destination for the books evaluated. It shows the importance of the accomplishment of periodic evaluations in the collections of libraries, with the purpose to characterize them and, consequently, to analyze the adequacy of the development of collections implanted in these libraries. It displays the stages of the development of collections, that are the election, the acquisition, the evaluation, the rough-hewing and the conservation and preservation, and shows the importance of these stages to be elaborated well so that the collection of the libraries is organized with quality. It concludes that the results of the carried through evaluation had demonstrated that the collection of the Library of the TJRS corresponds its objectives, although to present some problems, mainly, in relation its physical conditions. It makes suggestions to this library in relation to the accomplishment of other studies of evaluation in the remain of the collection and to the establishment of a regularity in this process.
