Avaliação estatística dos acidentes de trânsito com bicicletas na cidade de Porto Alegre

Abstract

Diversos fatores vêm fazendo com que mais pessoas utilizem a bicicleta para se locomover. Consequentemente a tendência é de que o número de acidentes envolvendo ciclistas cresça conjuntamente a este fato. Com o intuito de avaliar a situação dos acidentes de trânsito no município de Porto Alegre, identificar os bairros e pontos críticos da cidade e traçar o perfil dos ciclistas envolvidos nestes acidentes, foram utilizadas técnicas estatísticas no âmbito da análise descritiva, geoestatística e multivariada. Informações geradas com base em dados de acidentes dos anos 2004 a 2013 dão conta de que ocorrem em média 324,6 acidentes envolvendo bicicletas por ano em Porto Alegre, com uma média de 9,4 fatalidades por ano em decorrência destes. Com base na geração do mapa temático dos bairros da cidade foi constatado que os mais perigosos para os ciclistas são o Centro, o Partenon, a Aberta dos Morros, a Restinga, o Sarandi e o Rubem Berta. Utilizando a ferramenta Grid Density, que faz uma estimativa alisada da intensidade local dos eventos sobre a área estudada, obtém-se como resultado a “superfície de risco” para sua ocorrência. Através disto pode-se determinar as pontos críticos como sendo a Avenida Ipiranga próxima a Avenida João Pessoa, seguida pela Avenida General Lima e Silva. Ainda, outros pontos de grande ocorrência de acidentes estão localizados na Avenida Assis Brasil, próximo a Rua Jackson de Figueiredo, no cruzamento das avenidas Francisco Silveira Bitencourt e Bernardino Silveira de Amorim, e na Estrada João Antônio da Silveira. Por fim, a análise de cluster permitiu que fossem traçados perfis para os ciclistas vítimas de acidentes em Porto Alegre, um de grande interesse está relacionado a homens adultos, envolvidos em acidentes com automóveis, na região centro, particularmente as sextas-feiras.

Several factors are making more people to use the bike to get around. Consequently the trend is that the number of accidents involving cyclists grow together to this fact. In order to evaluate the situation of traffic accidents in the city of Porto Alegre, identify neighborhoods and critical points of the city and trace the profile of cyclists involved in these accidents, statistical techniques were used in the context of descriptive analysis, geostatistics and multivariate. Information generated based on accident data for the years 2004 to 2013 realize that occur on average 324.6 accidents involving bicycles per year in Porto Alegre, with an average of 9.4 fatalities per year as a result. Based on the generation of thematic map of the city's neighborhoods was found that the most dangerous for cyclists are the Centro, the Partenon, the Aberta dos Morros, the Restinga, the Sarandi and the Rubem Berta. Using the Grid Density tool, making a smoothed estimate of the local intensity of the events in the studied area, obtained as a result the "risk area" for its occurrence. By this can be determined the critical points as the Avenue Ipiranga next to Avenue João Pessoa, followed by Avenue General Lima e Silva. Yet, other points of great occurrence of accidents are located at Avenue Assis Brazil, near Jackson de Figueiredo Street, at the intersection of the avenues Francisco Silveira Bitencourt and Bernardino Silveira de Amorim, and Road João Antônio da Silveira. Finally, the cluster analysis allowed to trace profiles for accident victims cyclists in Porto Alegre, one of great interest is related to adult men, involved in accidents with automobiles in the region centro, particularly on Fridays.
