A indicatriz tangente de uma curva regular fechada na esfera S²

Abstract

Neste trabalho estudamos a indicatriz tangente de uma curva regular fechada em S2 que mostramos ser também uma curva regular fechada. Provamos que, em particular, se a indicatriz tangente é simples, determina na esfera duas regiões com áreas iguais. Também estabelecemos condições necessárias e suficientes para que uma curva regular fechada em S2 seja a indicatriz tangente de alguma curva em S2. A existência de uma homotopia regular entre uma curva regular fechada em S2 e sua indicatriz tangente também é apresentada.

In this work we study the tangent indicatrix of a closed regular curve in S2, which is by itself a closed regular curve. In particular, we prove that if tangent indicatrix is simple, it divides the sphere into two regions with exactly the same areas. We also establish necessary and su±cient conditions for a closed regular curve in S2 to be the tangent indicatrix of some curve in S2. Moreover, the existence of a regular homotopy between a closed regular curve in S2 and its tangent indicatrix is proved.
