Dentes supranumerários : revisão de literatura

Abstract

Dentes supranumerários podem ocorrer tanto na dentição mista, como na permanente, porém sua frequência é maior na dentição permanente e sua etiologia ainda é desconhecida. Os dentes supranumerários podem ocorrer isolados ou múltiplos, porém a segunda situação é menos frequente. Entre as consequências que podemos ter com a ocorrência dos dentes supranumerários, podemos citar os problemas para a erupção dos dentes e a influência no correto alinhamento dos dentes permanentes, apinhamentos, tumores e cistos odontogênicos.

Supernumerary teeth may occur in both mixed and permanent dentitions, but their frequency is greater in the permanent dentition and its etiology is still unknown. Supernumerary teeth may occur isolated or multiple, but the second condition is less frequent. Among the consequences that we can have with the occurrence of supernumerary teeth, we can mention the problems for the eruption of the teeth and the influence in the correct alignment of the permanent teeth, crowds and tumors and odontogenic cysts.
