Perspectiva discente na EJA/EAD do ensino médio: um estudo de caso em uma instituição particular

Abstract

A Educação a Distância (EAD) tem se afirmado como uma forma eficiente de educação e, nas últimas décadas, como uma alternativa ao ensino presencial. Se antes era visto como de qualidade inferior ao modelo tradicional, o desenvolvimento tecnológico atualmente permite um ambiente propício à expansão dessa nova forma de ensino. Este trabalho teve como objetivo geral investigar o funcionamento de um curso de Ensino Médio da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) na modalidade EAD de uma instituição de ensino particular a partir da análise do Projeto Pedagógico e das percepções de estudantes da disciplina de Química. Neste trabalho foi realizado um estudo de caso que propôs uma reflexão sobre a metodologia, currículo e interesses dos discentes. Esta reflexão foi realizada por meio de uma busca de conteúdo teórico sobre a história da EJA e da modalidade EAD com suas perspectivas. A pesquisa sobre a perspectiva discente teve cunho quanti-qualitativo envolvendo aplicação de um questionário para uma amostragem de 92 estudantes do atual ano letivo distribuídos em quatro turmas do módulo III. Os resultados sobre o perfil dos estudantes revelam leve predomínio do número de homens, a maioria são solteiros, trabalhadores, residem com a família e são responsáveis pelo seu sustento. A principal expectativa dos alunos, que os levou a cursar a EJA modalidade EAD, foi obter o diploma do ensino médio em menor prazo. A maioria dos entrevistados não gosta da disciplina Química, mas a considera importante pela sua aplicabilidade no dia a dia. Os sujeitos avaliaram o programa oferecido como de bom nível, o qual, em geral, atende suas estratégias educacionais e profissionais futuras. Os resultados sugerem que um ponto crucial é a interação aluno-professor e aluno-escola, pois o gerenciamento desta relação é fundamental para que o aluno tenha um aprendizado de sucesso e se interesse pela disciplina de Química.

Distance Education (DE) has affirmed itself as an efficient form of education and, in the last decades, as an alternative to face-to-face teaching. If previously it was seen as inferior to the traditional model, technological development currently allows an environment conducive to the expansion of this new form of education. The objective of this work was to investigate the functioning of a Secondary Education Course for Youth and Adult Education (YAE) in the DE modality of a private educational institution based on the analysis of the Pedagogical Project and the students' perceptions of the Chemistry subject. In this work a case study was carried out that proposed a reflection on the methodology, curriculum and interests of the students. This reflection was carried out through a search for theoretical content about the history of the YAE and the DE modality with its perspectives. The research on the student perspective had quantitative-qualitative aspects involving the application of a questionnaire for a sample of 92 students of the current school year distributed in four classes of module III. The results on the profile of the students show a slight predominance of the number of men, most of whom are single, employed, living with the family and are responsible for their livelihood. The main expectation of the students, which led them to attend the DE modality, was to obtain the diploma of high school in a shorter term. Most interviewees do not like Chemistry but consider it important because of its applicability in everyday life. The subjects evaluated the program offered as a good level, which, in general, meets their future educational and professional strategies. The results suggest that a crucial point is the studentteacher and student-school interaction, since the management of this relation is fundamental so that the student has a successful learning and is interested in Chemistry subject.
