A Geografia e as poesias de Oliveira Silveira como um intrumento identitário de alunos negros do programa Trajetórias Criativas

Abstract

A presente pesquisa buscou problematizar como o racismo e a evasão escolar estão ligados aos estigmas raciais no ambiente escolar. Pesquisou como é possível construir ações cotidianas, por meio do ensino de Geografia, ressaltando os aspectos da cultura negra gaúcha através dos poemas de Oliveira Silveira. A investigação foi realizada com alunos participantes do Programa Trajetórias Criativas em Porto Alegre, com os seguintes objetivos: identificar os mecanismos que, historicamente, influenciaram a exclusão e a dificuldade de permanência do negro na educação; analisar os fatores de fracasso e exclusão educacional da população negra de Porto Alegre; construir, a partir dos poemas selecionados, representações mais abrangentes e que tragam maior visibilidade à geografia do negro no Rio Grande do Sul. O trabalho com os poemas de Oliveira Silveira foi de extrema importância para os alunos negros do programa Trajetórias Criativas, pois oportunizou a aceitação e a narração de identidades territorializadas de forma estética e, ao mesmo tempo, política.

The present research sought to discuss how racism and school evasion are linked to racial stigma in school environments. It explores possible everyday actions in teaching geography, which emphasize aspects of black culture through the gaucho poems by Oliveira Silveira. The investigation was conducted with students participating in the program Creative Paths in Porto Alegre. The objectives were: to identify the mechanisms which, historically, have influenced the exclusion and the hardships of the negro in education; to analyze the factors of failure and educational exclusion of black people in Porto Alegre; to select poems and to build more comprehensive representations, bringing greater visibility to the geography of the black Rio Grande do Sul. The work with the poems by Oliveira Silveira was of the utmost importance for the black students of the Creative Paths program, because it provided self-acceptance and narratives of identities, at the same time, aesthetic and political.
