Arquivo Elke Hering : o indício de uma falta

Abstract

A tese Arquivo Elke Hering: indício de uma falta, trata da trajetória da artista brasileira Elke Hering, a partir do arquivo. Os arquivos analisados foram constituídos pela artista, por sua obra, mas principalmente pelos gerados por esta pesquisa, que agregou muitos outros elementos, ultrapassando a fronteira do arquivo da obra e o arquivo da artista. A narrativa foi construída pelos fragmentos do próprio arquivo ao mesmo tempo em que mostra os caminhos da pesquisa junto com a história dos documentos. Seguindo uma metodologia que pretende explicitar o trabalho de pesquisa, deixamos evidente o percurso dos documentos encontrados e dos que não foram encontrados. Dos encontrados: como foram acessados, em que local estavam, como chegaram em determinados espaços, de que maneira estavam armazenados e que tipo de material foi preservado. Na outra direção, os não encontrados: como foi identificada a falta, as tentativas de acesso, onde poderiam estar e porque não foram preservados. O arquivo foi trabalhado como um campo inventivo pela sua presença, mas também como falta. Portanto, compreendido pela impossibilidade de sua completude. As últimas considerações estão debruçadas em Memória Arqueológica, uma das obras finais da artista, que ao temer pela morte e pelo desaparecimento urgiu por deixar marcas e resistir ao tempo.

The Thesis Archive Elke Hering: an indication of a lack, deals with the trajectory of the Brazilian artist Elke Hering, from the archive. The archives analyzed were composed by the artist, for her work, but mainly those generated by this research, which added many other elements, beyond the frontier of the archive of the work and the archives of the artist. The narrative was constructed by the fragments of the archive itself while showing the research paths along with the history of the documents. Following a methodology that intends to make explicit the research work, we make evident the course of the documents found and those that were not found. Found: how they were accessed, where they were, how they arrived in certain spaces, how they were stored and what kind of material was preserved. In the other direction, those not found: how the fault was identified, the access attempts, where they could be and why they were not preserved. The file was worked as an inventive field by his presence, but also as lack. Therefore, understood by the impossibility of its completeness. The last considerations are addressed in Archaeological Memory, one of the artist's final works, which, in fearing death and disappearance, urged to leave marks and resist time.
