NOBRADE e a descrição de fotografias nas diversas áreas da ciência da informação

Abstract

A fotografia - que ao longo dos anos vem adquirindo importante papel na sociedade moderna - insere-se dentro do conceito de documento, e assim, torna-se objeto para as três áreas da Ciência da Informação. Custodiar, organizar e difundir são as primordiais tarefas do que se habituou chamar de Três Marias da Ciência da Informação, e para que o ciclo se complete, a atividade de descrição e a conseqüente criação dos instrumentos de pesquisa foram pensados, pois estes fazem a ligação entre usuário e o acervo. Na Arquivologia, esta atividade tem como aporte algumas normas que buscam padronizar a descrição e com isso facilitar a troca de informações entre instituições. No presente trabalho, contextualizou-se a fotografia enquanto objeto de cada uma das disciplinas da Ciência da Informação e, principalmente, analisou-se a aplicação da Norma Brasileira de Descrição Arquivística (NOBRADE) na descrição fotográfica dentro destas áreas, de modo a possibilitar a troca de informações entre instituições de diferentes naturezas. Como metodologia, foram observadas três instituições, uma de cada área. Examinou-se os instrumentos de busca, identificou-se os elementos de descrição e posteriormente comparou-se com os da Norma, verificando-se, assim, que a NOBRADE abarca as necessidades das diversas áreas.

The photography - that over the years has acquired an important role in modern society - falls within the concept of document, and thus, become object of the three areas of Information Science. Safeguard, organize and disseminate are the primary tasks that we’ve come to call Three Marias of Information Science, and to the cycle becomes completed, the activity description and the consequent creation of finding aid were designed, because it’s makes the connection between user and the holdings. In the Archive Administration, this activity has some contribution rules that seek to standardize the description and, that way, facilitate the information exchange between institutions. The present work, was contextualized the photograph as an object of each of the disciplines of Information Science and, especially, was analyzed the application of the Brazilian Standard Archival Description (Norma Brasileira de Descrição Arquivística - NOBRADE) in the description gallery in these areas, to enable the information exchange between institutions of different natures. Methodology, where observed three institutions, one from each area. Was examined the finding aid, was identified the elements of description and then compared with those of Standard, concluding in this way that the NOBRADE covers the needs of different areas.
