Clube de leitura com Matemática : uma prática com alunos do Ensino Médio

Abstract

Este trabalho aborda possíveis relações entre Matemática e Literatura, presentes em diferentes livros de ficção, com intuito de utilizar dessas relações para incentivar investigações matemáticas com alunos do Ensino Médio regular. Realizou-se uma prática pedagógica realizada no decorrer de três encontros no formato virtual, com cinco alunos (que gostam de literatura) do Ensino Médio da Escola Estadual de Educação Básica Presidente Roosevelt — situada no bairro Menino Deus, no município de Porto Alegre. Através desta prática, utilizando romances matemáticos, foi possível descobrir e investigar diferentes possibilidades de articulação entre matemática e literatura, bem como se tais práticas instigam a curiosidade dos alunos com relação à matemática escolar. Também se utilizou de um inventário para categorizar romances matemáticos em suas diferentes formas de ver matemática nos livros. Por meio desta categorização, expôs-se diversos títulos, suas sinopses e algumas observações sobre as possibilidades de trabalhar matemática a partir deles — contribuindo para que futuros pesquisadores desta temática possam encontrar novos e diferentes exemplos de utilizar literatura para se trabalhar matemática em diferentes níveis escolares. Se constatou a importância de utilizar livros que possam ter relação com a realidade do aluno, bem como a necessidade de um planejamento que abrange um bom trecho de livro, um problema matemático pertinente e que se lide com o ambiente que se está inserido — dado que neste trabalho a proposta didática precisou ser adaptada para o formato virtual devido às consequências da pandemia da COVID-19. Este trabalho pretende ampliar e compartilhar discussões sobre este amplo tema que é matemática e literatura, e por isso se reforça a possibilidade de utilizar práticas, como a desta pesquisa, na escola básica regular, inclusive no Ensino Fundamental.

This work addresses possible relations between Mathematics and Literature, which are present in different novels, in order to use these relations for mathematical investigations with regular high school students. A pedagogical practice was carried out in the course of three meetings in a virtual format, with five students (who like literature) from the High School of Escola Estadual de Educação Básica Presidente Roosevelt — located in the Menino Deus neighborhood, in the city of Porto Alegre. Through this practice, using mathematical novels, it was possible to discover alternatives for the articulation between mathematics and literature, as well as whether such practices instigate students' curiosity regarding school mathematics. Also, an inventory was used to categorize mathematical novels in their different ways of viewing mathematics in books. Through this categorization, several titles, their synopses and some tips on the possibilities of working on mathematics from them were shown - contributing so that future researchers of this theme can find new and different examples of using literature to work mathematics at different school levels. It was noted the importance of using novels that may be related to the student's reality, as well as the need for a planning that covers a good excerpt of that book, a relevant mathematical problem and that can handle with the environment that is inserted - given that in this research the didactic proposal needed to be adapted to the virtual format due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. This work intends to expand and share discussions on this broad topic, which is mathematics and literature, and for this reason the possibility of using practices, such as this research, is reinforced in the regular basic school, including elementary school.
