A estrutura esquemática e os recursos semântico-discursivos de textos de graduandos : um estudo preliminar

Abstract

Esta monografia tem como objetivos mapear a estrutura esquemática de textos produzidos por graduandos do primeiro semestre do curso de Letras e identificar alguns recursos semântico-discursivos presentes nos textos. A pesquisa é orientada pela Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional (LSF) fundamentada por M. Halliday. A noção de gênero desenvolvida pela LSF se refere a como os textos são organizados em etapas e fases para alcançarem propósitos sociais, uma vez que o repertório de gêneros disponível aos membros de uma cultura constitui-se de tipos textuais utilizados em situações previsíveis e recorrentes (MARTIN; ROSE, 2008). Quanto aos recursos semântico-discursivos, permitem que se compreenda os processos sociais que envolvem a produção de um texto (MARTIN; ROSE, 2007[2003]). Dentre os recursos semântico-discursivos, a análise articula três recursos, incluindo (a) AVALIATIVIDADE para compreender as atitudes negociadas; (b) IDEAÇÃO para explicitar a construção da experiência e (c) PERIODICIDADE para delinear o fluxo de informações na organização do texto. Como objeto de análise, foram selecionados quatro textos produzidos por graduandos do curso de Letras, de quatro propostas textuais trabalhadas na disciplina de Leitura e Produção Textual, disciplina do primeiro semestre do curso. Como procedimento analítico identificou-se o propósito sociocomunicativo, a estrutura esquemática dos gêneros instanciados nos textos e os recursos semântico-discursivos de AVALIATIVIDADE, de IDEAÇÃO e de PERIODICIDADE. O mapeamento desses recursos contribui para o entendimento do modo como escritores usam a linguagem em um esforço para se apresentar, avaliar o trabalho dos outros e se comunicar com os leitores. This monograph aims to map the schematic structure of texts produced by undergraduate students of the first semester of the Languages course and identify some semantic-discursive resources present in the texts. The research is guided by Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) based on M. Halliday. The notion of gender developed by the SFL refers to how texts are organized in stages and phases to achieve social purposes, since the genre repertoire available to members of a culture consists of textual types used in predictable and recurring situations (MARTIN; ROSE, 2008). As for the semantic-discursive resources, they allow us to understand the social processes that involve the production of a text (MARTIN; ROSE, 2007 [2003]). Among the semantic-discursive resources, the analysis articulates three resources, including (a) APPRAISAL to understand negotiated attitudes; (b) IDEATION to clarify the construction of the experience and (c) PERIODICITY to delineate the information flow in the text organization. As an object of analysis, four texts produced by undergraduates of the Languages course were selected, from four textual proposals worked in the Reading and Textual Production discipline, discipline of the first semester of the course. As analytical procedure we identified the socio-communicative purpose, the schematic structure of the genres instantiated in the texts and the semantic-discursive resources of APPRAISAL, IDEATION and PERIODICITY. Mapping these resources contributes to understanding how writers use language in an effort to present themselves, evaluate others' work, and communicate with readers.
