Para além da estética da mercadoria: educação ambiental em centros de recondicionamento de computadores

Abstract

Esta tese busca investigar a cultura e a estética, entendida como percepção sensorial e como Educação do Sensível, que orientam as atividades de Educação Ambiental (EA) realizadas nos Centros de Recondicionamento de Computadores (CRC) integrantes do Programa Computadores para Inclusão (Programa CI) apoiados pelo Ministério das Comunicações (MCom). Esses centros têm como principais funções recondicionar e distribuir equipamentos de informática a escolas públicas, telecentros e outras iniciativas de inclusão digital, com descarte ambientalmente correto dos resíduos eletroeletrônicos, e ofertar formação com foco nas tecnologias digitais a jovens e adultos em situação de vulnerabilidade. Considerando o objetivo desta tese, a missão institucional e as peculiaridades referentes à natureza dos CRC, o presente estudo se inscreve no campo dos Estudos Culturais em Educação, na linha de pesquisa “Educação Científica: Implicações das Práticas Científicas na Constituição dos Sujeitos”, buscando responder ao seguinte problema de pesquisa: O que caracteriza a cultura e a estética nas atividades de EA realizadas pelos CRC apoiados pelo Programa CI? Para tanto, a pesquisa, de natureza básica e abordagem qualitativa, tem como principais procedimentos metodológicos a análise documental, o uso de questionário online e a realização de análise do discurso crítica (ADC). O processo crescente e acelerado de geração de resíduos eletroeletrônicos, a necessidade de ações concretas no enfrentamento da crise ambiental no Brasil e o desafio de superar o anestesiamento das capacidades sensíveis humanas em direção a uma educação integral e transformadora reforçam a importância de se investigar discursos e práticas de EA nesses centros. Embora já tenham formado mais de 23 mil jovens, a literatura acadêmica sobre os processos formativos dos CRC ainda é escassa e a realização desta pesquisa inova sobretudo ao investigar as ações de EA nesses centros a partir da perspectiva da estética. Dentre os resultados destacam-se: a identificação e a análise das estratégias, dos tipos de atividades educativas, dos públicos-alvo, das vivências estéticas e das metodologias de ensino-aprendizagem mais utilizadas pelos CRC do Programa CI. Como conclusão, ressalta-se a diversidade de estratégias, as diferentes abordagens e usos dos territórios, a ética socioambiental e a singularidade e importância das experiências estéticas no trabalho de EA dos CRC. A pesquisa pôs em articulação referenciais teóricos e categorias analíticas de diferentes campos de conhecimento, construindo um arcabouço que permitiu interpretar como os valores culturais e a estética contribuem para a constituição das escolhas e das práticas de EA nos CRC.

This thesis seeks to investigate the culture and aesthetics, understood as sensory perception and as Education of the Sensible, that guide the Environmental Education (EE) activities carried out in the Computer Reconditioning Centers (CRC) that are part of the Computers for Inclusion Program (CI Program) supported by the Ministry of Communications (MCom). The main functions of these centers are to recondition and distribute computer equipment to public schools, telecenters and other digital inclusion initiatives, with environmentally correct disposal of electronic waste, and to offer training focused on digital technologies to young people and adults in vulnerable situations. Considering the aim of this thesis, the institutional mission and the peculiarities of the nature of the CRCs, this study falls within the field of Cultural Studies in Education, in the line of research "Scientific Education: Implications of Scientific Practices in the Constitution of Subjects", seeking to answer the following research problem: What characterizes culture and aesthetics in the EE activities carried out by the CRCs supported by the CI Programme? To this end, the research, of a basic nature and qualitative approach, has as its main methodological procedures document analysis, the use of an online questionnaire and critical discourse analysis (CDA). The growing and accelerating process of generating electrical and electronic waste, the need for concrete actions to tackle the environmental crisis in Brazil and the challenge of overcoming the anaesthetization of human sensitive capacities towards an integral and transformative education reinforce the importance of investigating EE discourses and practices in these centers. Although they have already trained more than 23,000 young people, the academic literature on the training processes of the CRCs is still scarce and this research innovates above all by investigating the EE actions in these centers from the perspective of aesthetics. The results include: identification and analysis of the strategies, types of educational activities, target audiences, aesthetic experiences and teaching-learning methodologies most used by the CRCs in the CI Program. In conclusion, we highlight the diversity of strategies, the different approaches and uses of territories, socio-environmental ethics and the uniqueness and importance of aesthetic experiences in the CRCs' environmental education work. The research brought together theoretical references and analytical categories from different fields of knowledge, building a framework that allowed us to interpret how cultural values and aesthetics contribute to the constitution of environmental education choices and practices at CRCs.
