Quintais urbanos, rurais e agroflorestais : uma revisão etnobotânica no Brasil

Abstract

Contexto: Estudos etnobotânicos têm apontado os quintais como uma importante unidade de paisagem reveladora do uso e conservação da biodiversidade. O elevado número de espécies encontrado nos quintais e as interações estabelecidas com os respectivos idealizadores satisfazem necessidades econômica, social e cultural específicas do grupo envolvido. Este trabalho objetiva realizar uma revisão bibliográfica dos levantamentos etnobotânicos com enfoque em quintais urbanos, rurais e agroflorestais, realizados no Brasil. Métodos: Foram selecionados artigos encontrados nas bases de dados de dados Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science e Google Scholar, que abordassem especificamente a etnobotânica em quintais urbanos, rurais e agroflorestais no Brasil. Resultados: Foram selecionados 83 artigos entre os anos de 2004 e 2023. A região brasileira que mais produziu artigos foi o Centro-Oeste. Os estados com o maior número de publicações foram Mato Grosso, Pará, São Paulo e Minas Gerais. Pode-se observar padrões nas diferentes regiões do Brasil, quanto ao cultivo das espécies vegetais nas principais categorias de uso. Na região Norte houve o predomínio de plantas alimentícias, no Sul e Centro-Oeste alimentícias e medicinais, enquanto no Sudeste e Nordeste, as plantas mais comuns foram de uso ornamental. Conclusões: Os resultados deste estudo demonstram um aumento na produção de estudos etnobotânicos com quintais, podendo-se observar também uma diferença no número de artigos publicados nas diferentes regiões do Brasil. Apesar das categorias de uso alimentício, medicinal e ornamental serem as mais cultivadas em quintais, a importância destas categorias de uso varia de acordo com a região do país.

Context: Ethnobotanical studies have identified backyards as an important landscape unit that reveals the use and conservation of biodiversity. The high number of species found in backyards and the interactions established with their respective creators satisfy specific economic, social and cultural needs of the group involved. This work aims to carry out a bibliographical review of ethnobotanical surveys focusing on urban, rural and agroforestry backyards, carried out in Brazil. Methods: Articles found in the Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science and Google Scholar databases were selected, which specifically addressed ethnobotany in urban, rural and agroforestry backyards in Brazil. Results: 83 articles were selected between 2004 and 2023. The Brazilian region that produced the most articles was the Central-West. The states with the highest number of publications were Mato Grosso, Pará, São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Patterns can be observed in different regions of Brazil, regarding the cultivation of plant species in the main categories of use. In the North region there is a predominance of food plants, in the South and Central-West food and medicinal plants, while in the Southeast and Northeast, the most common plants were for ornamental use. Conclusions: The results of this study demonstrate an increase in the production of ethnobotanical studies with backyards, and a difference can also be observed in the number of articles published in different regions of Brazil. Although the food, medicinal and ornamental use categories are the most cultivated in backyards, the importance of these use categories varies according to the region of the country.
