O registro do Patrimônio Imaterial em Porto Alegre : narrativa histórica e valoração patrimonial (2004 – 2016)

Abstract

A relação entre Patrimônio e História é bem documentada na literatura, bem como o papel da narrativa histórica mobilizada no processo de valorização de certos bens culturais durante o processo de patrimonialização. Este trabalho é uma contribuição empírica para essa problemática. Analisamos, a partir do caso dos cinco registros do Patrimônio Imaterial do município de Porto Alegre, como a narrativa histórica foi mobilizada para valorizar certos bens culturais como patrimônio imaterial e quais concepções da história de Porto Alegre são expressadas nos dossiês de registro. Apropriamos os conceitos de Discurso Autorizado de Patrimônio, de Laurajane Smith, e Escrita da História, de Michel de Certeau, e concluímos que os dossiês de registro do patrimônio imaterial têm diferenças qualitativas na maneira que a narrativa histórica atua para a valorização desses bens culturais. Ora a escrita da história aparece apenas como um acessório no dossiê, reforçando uma concepção de história linear por meio de um agregado de fatos cronológicos, ora é uma parte fundamental para a transformação dos bens culturais em patrimônio.

The relationship between Heritage and History is well documented in the literature, as well as the role of the mobilization of the historical narrative in the process of valorization of certain cultural assets in the processes of turning them into heritage. This work is an empirical contribution to this issue. We analyze, based on the case of the five registers of Intangible Heritage in the municipality of Porto Alegre, how historical narrative was mobilized to valorize certain cultural assets as intangible heritage and which conceptions of Porto Alegre's history are expressed in the registration dossiers. Through the concepts of Authorized Heritage Discourse and Writing of History, we conclude that the intangible heritage registration dossiers have qualitative differences in the way that historical narrative acts for valorization. Sometimes the writing of history appears only as an accessory in the dossier, reinforcing a linear conception of history trough as an aggregate of chronological facts, sometimes it is a fundamental part for the transformation of cultural assets into heritage.
