Tempo, tempo, tempo, tempo : o ritual na poética de Nara Guichon

Abstract

Esta pesquisa investiga as práticas ritualísticas presentes na obra da artista têxtil Nara Guichon, situada no contexto da arte contemporânea brasileira, com viés ecológico. O problema central consiste em compreender como o fazer da artista, marcado por uma relação dilatada com o tempo, se configura como um gesto poético de resistência ambiental, que perpassa seu conjunto de crenças e o estilo de vida. A pesquisa tem como objetivo geral analisar a poiética da artista, a partir da observação do seu fazer artístico, do seu espaço de trabalho, de suas obras e de registros audiovisuais, bem como intuir o que consideramos “práticas ritualísticas” presentes em seu cotidiano, e que se refletem em seu processo artístico. Trata-se de um estudo com observação participante, análise da história oral obtida a partir de entrevistas e, eventualmente, comentários acerca das obras finais. Como resultado, espera-se contribuir para o campo da história da arte, com um trabalho que visa ampliar as abordagens em torno da vida e da obra de Nara Guichon.

This research investigates the ritualistic practices present in the work of the textile artist Nara Guichon, situated within the context of contemporary Brazilian art, with an ecological perspective. The central problem is to understand how the artist’s practice, marked by an expanded relationship with time, is configured as a poetic gesture of environmental resistance that permeates her system of beliefs and lifestyle. The general objective of the research is to analyze the artist’s poietics through observation of her artistic practice, her workspace, her artworks, and audiovisual records, as well as to intuit what we consider to be “ritualistic practices” present in her daily life and reflected in her artistic process. This is a study based on participant observation, analysis of oral history obtained through interviews, and, when applicable, commentary on the final works. As a result, the research aims to contribute to the field of art history by expanding approaches to the life and work of Nara Guichon.
